4.0 out of 5 stars Kirts can single handedly re-define "left field"., May 27, 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: Okay, Fine (Paperback)
Kirts sees the world through an absolutely unique filter. "Okay Fine" is not only the book title but the stance that many in the movie business take to deal with idiots who happen to be in control. When faced with "do it my way or the highway" they "do it my way" knowing it'll fail and the idiot will take the heat. "Okay Fine" is a must read. If you haven't read Kirts before, be prepared to get on a bus and exit through a partially opened window rather than from the door you entered.

4.0 out of 5 stars Classic Kirts, full of quirks, May 17, 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: Okay, Fine (Paperback)
If you're a Kirts fan like I am, this one's for you. "Okay Fine" features an intriguing set of quirky characters ensnared in an intricate plot. The author takes his time letting the reader get very friendly with the starring characters before throwing a curve. What began as a beguiling Los Angeles character study suddenly explodes into a fast-paced thriller. Kirts' trademark shifts of viewpoint character (ala Hitchcock's "Psycho") make "Okay, Fine" a fast and compelling read.

I especially enjoyed the fantasy book openings penned by Merk Tillot, a Hollywood union carpenter. Tillot, a guy just trying to scrape together a living, becomes a pawn of fate. He is paired with John Niedermire, a Vietnam vet on a hair trigger. Into the mix goes Lainie Dall, a voluptuous movie star who makes life interesting for both of the guys.

Keith Kirts is a master at juggling the many agendas and personalities which come to life in his books. "Okay, Fine" is one of his best. Highly recommended!
