Product Description

For high-impact documents and improved workgroup performance—along with tighter control over your printing costs and security— look to the C711 Series.

Fast printing for increased productivity – With print speeds of up to 34 ppm in color, 36 ppm in monochrome, and a time to first color page of 9 seconds,1 C711 Series printers keep work flowing productivel.

Unique HD Color technology

For print quality that visibly enhances your documents, C711 Series printers use HD Color printing technology. This combines OKI Printing Solutions’ multilevel LED printheads, unique microfine toner, a straight-through paper path, and enhanced color software to provide greater depth of detail and color, and a high gloss finish, even on ordinary office paper.

Print a range of document sizes and formats with ease – Single Pass Color technology and the C711 Series’ straight-through paper path will easily handle media up to 140 lb. index (or 250 gsm), as well as envelopes and banners. The 2-sided printing capability of duplex-equipped models saves time and supplies.

Print letter- and legal-size sheets for day-today requirements—in breathtaking color or crisp black & white. Should you need to print postcards, CD labels, even banners up to 52 inches in length, you can produce them all in-house.

The C711 Series from OKI Printing Solutions quickly delivers high-quality output on a wide range of media – including card stock and banners up to 52 inches in length.

C711 Series color printers from OKI Printing Solutions deliver brilliant output at high speeds. They also offer a long list of features that can improve your image, profitability and peace of mind. Here are some value-added examples:

Color Swatch Easily match custom colors to the color values on your C711 Series printer. Select a simple swatch to print a basic set of colors, then match the values in your application. Select a custom swatch and set the Hue, Saturation and Lightness to target your custom color.

Color Correct Makes it easy to adjust colors commonly found in applications such as Microsoft Word, Exceland PowerPoint. It also lets you adjust the overall color of a print by controlling the lightness, darkness and contrast of images, and intensity and lightness of colors.

Control your Printing Costs

Color Access Policy Manager (CAPM) Lets you control and monitor color usage by defining who can print and what gets printed. Decide who and what can print in color, in black & white or not at all, making color printing cost-effective. Access levels can be assigned by user name, PC/server name, application, file name and web sites. Once policies are configured, CAPM determines how —or if—incoming jobs will print. All policies are password-protected for added security.

Job Accounting

Enables tracking of color and mono printing costs, easy monitoring of printing activity, and greater control of printer usage. It generates reports for administrative, bill-back or cost-accounting purposes. User permissions can be assigned and are stored on the printer—not on the network—so the system is totally secure.

CONTROL the degree of your security C711 Series printers equipped with the 16 GB SD memory card provide enhanced security features that include Encrypted Secure Print:

  • 256-Bit Encryption Enables secure passage of sensitive documents from PC to printer, with processing and output requiring PIN identification.
  • Job Timeout If not retrieved within a certain time (pre-set by the user), the document is sanitized (cleared) from the unit’s memory.
  • MAC Validation The Message Authentication Code (MAC) is PC-encrypted into a document’s printing data to prevent the file from being tampered with after it is sent to the printer. The printer reads the code and, if any alterations to the file are detected, issues a warning and cancels the job.

The BEST printer -- OKI Data.

I had an Oki 9 years ago, and it worked like a charm. It printed pages upon pages without a hitch or a glitch. Then, I moved around and had no need for a 90lbs printer. Thus, I gave it to a friend for their small business.

This printer is fast. This printer renders accurate images. This printer has the best customer support of any printer company I have used (Lexmark, HP, Brother, and disappointingly Samsung).

Recently, I tried Samsung (figuring they make great televisions and mobile phones) printers (CLX-6260FW) only to find the printer would slow down from 12+ pages per minute to 5-7 pages per minute when I sought to print 100s of pages in one fell swoop.

By contrast, the Oki printers I have had (C711DN, and MFC562W) have proven themselves to be dependable and reliable. Add to that their ppm cost for b&w and color are among the lowest for printers, and you have a match made in heaven. Durable and reliable printer + relatively inexpensive toner / consumable costs.

Amazon, without saying, has proven exemplary in my having to trade 2-3 Samsung printers out before concluding they were not up to -- or can even approach -- the gold standard set by Oki.

I have only been using this for a couple weeks but can share my initial impressions.

I bought this for my small business because I wanted to be able to do a number of things: print on envelopes and thick card (something that many laser printers can't do because they don't have a straight feed), print in laser ink so I could do postage and envelopes without the ink running when wet, print pretty good quality/resolution, duplex mode, and 2 separate paper feeds. I'll briefly comment on each category:

Envelopes and card: I've printed both materials and it seems to work pretty well. By adjusting the paper type I was able to get card to come out without much curl (just ~1 inch at the end). This may not sounds great but the other straight feed printer I tried turned the paper into a roll (OK...I'm exaggerating a bit). I'm a bit disappointed in the thickness of card that I can print on. Caveat is that this printer can probably handle thicker card than almost any other printer in the category so it's more a reflection on my expectations, but I was surprised that I wasn't able to print on a cardstock that was about the thickness of a dime.

Laser & resolution: Check - I is indeed a laser printer, though I haven't tested the ink with water. The resolution is pretty good. There was a clear noticeable difference between the other laser printer I tried. With the OKI there was almost a gloss on the black that looked really professional. Note that this won't compare to most inket printers. When I look closely at the print I can see the imperfections.

Duplex: I haven't used this extensively but it seems to work.

It is a great product but the accessories do not need to be so expensive, additional memory costs as musc as half the price of the printer. They should make the specs public so after market parts can be used.

First of all, I'm not one of those that complains often and I already had an OKI C711 which has been reliable, so I bought 2 more of the dn model for my business due to the price. BOTH printers had problems from the start and after wasting 2 hours on the phone with tech support, the problems were not resolved. I bought the square trade warranty: won't work until the OKI warranty is up! OKI, I will pay you $900 (the cost of my original printer) if you give me a decently reliable product that I don't have to worry about playing with everyday. I also want a printer that doesn't tell me the toner (or drum life) is out when it is really half full (this is simply dishonest!). The tech support person even admitted that the toners, etc are based on a type of "timer" not the real amount of the toner/life. So your toner could be half full or empty when it tells you the toner is "empty replace toner" and the same goes for drums and every other gadget that they can say is worn out and is a lie! Bottom line: maybe it was just by chance I received two bad printers and yours won't be problematic?

EDITED/Updated: After calling OKI again we worked out a solution for the defective printer, they are replacing it and the defective drum for the other unit. Though I wish this wouldn't have taken about 3 hours total tech support time at least they are trying to get it right. I'm still ill about that toner issue hence the 4 star not 5.

If you send print jobs to this printer then it prints out on paper IN COLOR!!! From what I can tell it looks like the toner will be inexpensive because of the huge page count. We had been using a very old 1998 vintage Oki printer (they last FOREVER), but this one is SOOO much nicer. The duplexer has never missed a beat either. We start printing in one office and before I reach the printer it is often already finished. I would not suggest that having a printer is a spiritual experience or anything, BUT if it was then this would be THAT printer. If they had made it any better it would probably have cost more. I think we are probably going to like it.
