I would recommend this to anyone who needs to print 5-part forms (like for a car dealership) with just one caveat; brand new 64-bit Windows won't work with this printer, so you may need to consult the people who provide your paperwork software to get it running smoothly (which they should be able to do just fine)

No warm up.
No head cleaning.
No dried up ink.
No expired ink cartridges (HP!)
No putzing around.
Just %$^#%$ prints.

Best printer I've ever had. The 24 pin version (ML 420) prints almost as perfectly as a laser, great for business letters or resumes.

One big plus - ribbons last almost forever, and cost $4. (Unlike my epson, lol!

I purchased this pricey dot matrix printer five months ago to print book labels for our church library. Sometimes it works without a glitch and other times I have to keep experimenting to find a way to make it work. I waste labels and time whenever it doesn't perform correctly. My old Okidata was great, but it finally gave out, forcing me to find a replacement.

If you are needing this printer for labels, be sure you follow the instructions carefully. Also, I have found it helps to quit my library program and unplug and replug the printer before I even try to print. It is frustrating. There just don't seem to be that many good dot matrix printers available for printing labels.

there's not much to say about a dot-matrix printer. for a business using multi-part invoices, they are just about the only option. the oki is fast and reliable, what more do you need?
