Heavy Duty printer,

This printer is heavy duty. I hired someone to set it up since it weighs over 75 pounds in the box. Print quality is excellent for both black and white and color. It gets heavy duty use in our CPA office and has far greater durability than an ink jet printer and the cost per page is much less. I had to call Tech support which is located in New Jersey and the support person spent an hour with me making sure that I installed the scanner software properly. She was a pleasure to deal with. No real issues here with this machine. I had to read the manual to properly figure out how to set up the fax but that was no big deal.

Good for printing, copying/scanning/faxing not so much,

Been using this for about 9 months now. It's hooked up on a small work network. I set it up with help from phone support. Printing is it's main strength. Color output is good, speed is decent. Very infrequent jams or other printing problems. The scanning is so so, network scanning is slow, creates huge files with average quality. Direct scanning is faster with better quality but still has some kinks to work out with grey scale scanning, it makes white pages grey. Copying is slow, seems like 4 seconds or so to copy a page. Thankfully we don't do much copying.Faxing out is fine, send and forget. Turned off incoming on it as we kept getting communication error messages, tech support could not figure it out. Paid $799 through the Nerds. Would I buy again? Not sure, now that I know what to look out for I would research this more. I may end up buying a dedicated scanner because of the poor quality in this one. Overall a helleuva lot cheaper to buy than a full scale copier that acts as a glorified printer/scanner. Can't wait for that lease to be up. |
