The Okinawa Collection Samurai Katana is an astounding 46" in overall length. It has an extra long 15" handle beautifully wrapped in a traditional criss cross pattern. Tucked under the wrapping on the handle two golden menuki dragons leer out at you. The tsuba (hand guard) is shaped in the form of a whirling typhoon and is tinted in gold and gunmetal grey. The saya (scabbard) is painted in black laqer with a golden typhoon symbol in the center, and is skillfully wrapped in an intricate pattern. The blade is made of 440 stainless steel and is inscribed in Japanese. The inscription reads "I belong to the warrior, in who the old ways have joined the new." This item is a must have for sword collectors and anyone who appreciates the splendor of the Japanese sword.
