This book is a must have for anyone involved in or doing research into Okinawan karate, especially the Naha-te side of the art. This book also has some very rare pictures.

Well written and researched. The historical quality, charts and photos are outstanding. I purchased both volumes 1 and 2 at a great price.

Due to my passionate interest in the origins of Okinawan karate I just had to have this book.It did not disappoint! Well researched ,
well written (shame about the odd typo but that is the editor's fault not the authors),very readable.A truly worthwhile addition to any serious karateka's library.

Nice book. I have read most all of the Goju Ryu/Naha-te history type books including the Bubushi. If you want a good overall background on how all this material we enjoy today got solidified over time, this is a good book. I would call this a must have for senior person in the Naha-te circles.

This is a very well written book on history that is really hard to figure out. I'm sure not all is accurate but on Okinawan Karate history nothing was ever written down through the ages. Recommend the book good read.
