There are some that resist this type of media (on-demand DVD burn), but I have to tell you they are professionally recorded and use the same master and quality of reproduction equipment as prepackaged retail products. These DVD's are authorized by the content owner and they supply the master.

I love this film and was so pleased to see it made available. The video and audio quality is excellent and the DVD packaging is as good as most single DVD retail product. This is not the burn-on-my-DVD-player quality you may have purchased before from 3rd parties.

If you love this film, buy it . . . you will be very pleased. My guess is that you'll see the on-demand DVD burn delivery method used more and more for this type of older film with a smaller following.

Faye Dunaway plays Lena, a female Oklahoma wildcatter during the Great Depression. Along with a maginally helpful, drunkard of a hired man (The only help she can afford), and her not-much-help father, she struggles against prejudice, being flat broke, sabatoge, and a deadly villan in her attempt to bring in a producing well. No ERA, Equal Opportunity Employment, or feminista BS here. Lena doesn't need them. This woman has the competitive guts, courage, and determination any man would be proud to exhibit.

Saw this film when released in the early 70s. Sure wish they'd bring it out on DVD.

Saw this movie once in my life, when I was a 12 year old boy. Dunuways performance as women`s lib fighter in a gastly men`s word is great. And then there`s Mancini`s music that keeps haunting your mind. i can still hum the main tune, but never saw the film a second time. Afer more then 35 years!!!!!I do not understand why this is not yet a DVD release.

...so is Faye Dunaway. I wish she had gone completely au natural; no makeup at all, but she can't help it that she was so beautiful back then. The performances are excellent; Jack Palance shines as the evil
oil man who wants to seize her land through any means, even shooting at them as they're repairing the rig on their well.
The relationship that develops between the two principle characters is worth waiting for; also, the tense relationship between the woman and her estranged father is sad and compelling.
I recommend this movie for a cold night when you want to wrap up in a blanket and see a good movie about oil men verses one little woman and the scrap of land she desperately guards as her own chance out of poverty.

An accurate depiction of early wild-catting days in our country before the government regulated everything. I am not one of your self-styled movie/DVD critic "experts" who nit-pick the sound, picture quality, editing, the little extras they expect to get on a DVD in addition to the movie. Good story, fine acting - it was a treat to see John Mills once more.

I guess my most critical remark regarding your self-proclaimed DVD critics who comment is - they always wind up whining about the price!

Oklahoma Crude was not available in VHS or DVD for many years. Too bad. It caused this gem to be neglected. I well remember Siskel & Ebert's review back in the 70's and they loved it. Easy to understand. Music by Henry Mancini, George C. Scott, Faye Dunaway, Jack Palance, and John Redgrave. They don't often package so much talent into one movie. It's worth it to hear a few of George's classic comedy lines in this wry and off-beat classic.

This movie makes you really feel what it would have been like to live in those desperate times. Having relatives that made it through the dust bowl, I appreciate the realism and determination that is displayed by the principal characters. Interesting twist at the end.

I was so happy to find this movie finally on DVD. My dad loves this movie and I've been looking for it for years, so I didn't hesistate to order. Quality is pretty good too, so it was a win-win all-around for us. Thanks!
