I used it yesterday at Crissy field in San Francisco surf casting hair-raisers for stripers. Its was just too smooth and an attention getter. I could cast a 100 times with this, its very ergonomic.

Amazon.com comes through once again. Got a great price on this saltwater reel w/ prompt FREE delivery. The reel arrived brand new.
So far so good with this baby. Have it filled w/ 20lb. power pro braid and matched up w/ the TICA 9'Dolphin surf rod. I primarily fish 4" and 5" swim baits. This reel is smooth as can be and can cast a mile. Only owned for a couple of months, but am very impressed so far. Would highly recommend this product.

I have about 7 spinning reels for both saltwater and freshwater fishing purposes. I thought they were high quality. They got the job done but are wearing down fast. All are in the 75-100 dollar price range. I'm getting ready to go deep sea fishing in June and thought I should bring out my gear and look it over. My spinning reels are a mess. Rods are in great condition. Time to buy at least two spinning reels. I demand quality at a discount price. This is exactly what Okuma gives you with the Cedros CJ 65S saltwater fishing reel. The reel simply is a mind blower. Quality parts, spare parts provided as well. Easy to change from right to left hand without using any tools. It's a beauty right out of the box. The motion of the reel is super smooth and flawless. If you buy the 20/280 model you can go down to as low as 12 lb test. I thought I knew something about fishing reels but Okuma has taught me something. First is that a spinning reel under 100 bucks is garbage but useful for infrequent fishing. If you to like fish frequently then you need to step up. This is the reel to get if you like spinning reels. Don't load this with more than 20 lbs test line. My other buy is a Fin Nor Ahab spinning reel also for saltwater. Still waiting for this one to arrive and I will post a review. Good job Okuma. No hesitation with recommending this reel. This one looks like it will stand the test of time. A lifetime!!
