i got the 6/6 medium rod with a avet s/x 5.3.1 reel with 40lb spec braided line with 30lb mono went with 20lb on first day but dink the line 3 times so if you go after tuna make sure you use 25 lb or higher or you be fighting the fish for an while longer. it worked as well as my calstar jig rig if not better.

I purchased the 5' 6" XXH and 6' XH for catching flathead catfish. Both of these rods are great for that purpose. The 6' casts a little better, and has a lighter tip section. The 5' 6" is a real brute! I put an Okuma Makaira 20-2 on it and pulled 47 lbs. of drag and the rod had plenty left, it could have taken more, but I couldn't. The 6' XH will easily handle over 30 lbs. of drag. These rods are also very nice looking, with top shelf components, Alps guides and a really nice Alps aluminum reel seat. After trying almost every big name catfish rod on the market, some costing much more, these are my number 1 choice for catfishing if you don't want to spend a lot more on a custom rod. If you want to put the power to big cats for a reasonable price, your search is over.
