1.0 out of 5 stars Horrible service by Amazon and the Vendor.
Rods were too stiff and impossible to get hold of vendor. Amazon was absolutely no help what so ever. They just got in the way and had not the slightest clue on how to resolve the issue. Vendor actually sent two rods in error in stead of one rod.

Capital One was fantastic in helping getting this thing resolved. If it were not for them, Amazon would still be...

5.0 out of 5 stars Great for trout, January 1, 2008
A great rod for trout, even the larger ones. Fishing with 3 lb test green Maxima line on Stradic 2500fh reel, it turns the fish quickly. I prefer them to the Daiwa graphite rods I've had.

Amazing for the money. I use it for the blue gill, crappie, and largemouth in the pond. Amazing results. You can feel everything your lure is doing. Awesome!

5.0 out of 5 stars FISH ON! Big advantage with this pole, October 2, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
OCT 2011 - OPENING DAY for 2011/2012 trout season at Pyramid Lake Nevada: Hundreds of fisherman hit the lake for the opening day, many fish were caught from boats, few fish from shore, but 'this guy' rocked it!

I went out with an 8'6" medium Okuma Celio, outfitted with a Shimano Sahara 2500 FD reel. The combination was powerful. Guys on either side of me each caught zero to one fish all day. I caught over fifteen! Lucky? I don't think so. The difference was the spinning rod & reel. Here's what I noticed:

1) Casting - I was flipping the same weight lures, and sending them at least 50% further than the other guys I was fishing with. The advantage for me was getting my lures into the deep water of the lake. The other guys were all coming up several yards short of the drop off where the big fish lurk this early in the season. When my lure would move from the deep water to the upper ledge, I constantly had big followers chasing my lure in.

2) Touch and feel - The light touch of the Ouma Celilo tip gives you quick evidence when you get a light hit from a big trout. If I felt a bump, I'd set the hook and the fight was on! No guessing about a hit - I had so much feel through the pole to the lure - I was always confident that I was taking advantage of every hit.

3) Fish on! Great pole for a tough fight. I had several fish on that were in the range of 4-6 lbs. The pole felt great and made the fight feel awesome. I was able to take my time and bring the fish in without rushing.

Yesterday I saw first hand how much difference owning a great pole & reel can make in trout fishing. Twice in the afternoon - I went on streaks. Three casts in a row - three fish caught in a row, then a little later four casts - four catches.

This is a great ultralight rod with loads of sensitivity. I just wish I had known that it is a 2-piece rod.

Great looking rod. It seems thin but it gets the job done. Took it out and you can feel everything . I love this pole. I use it for trout fishing and I would again.

I just recently purchased a second rod in a different size because I loved the first one so much. You can feel all the action from any lure you put on your line. Seems very well made and it is my favorite rod

5.0 out of 5 stars Very Favorite Rod., June 30, 2011
This review is from: Okuma Celilo Graphite Spinning Rod (Sports)
I've trout fished this rod with a shimano sahara reel for a couple of years. My rod tip broke in a car accident and I'm glad to see the same Okuma CELILO 6' 2-6lb is still available as a replacement. I've had dozens of rods over the years and have never wanted to buy the same rod twice. ( the grass is always greener ) but If this Okuma CILELO brakes I'll buy another one just like it. The best rod I've ever owned in ANY price range.
