5.0 out of 5 stars better than i thought
i originaly ordered this rod, as an anchor pole for my king fish rig. i used an ugly stick at first but needed something a little stiffer. for $29 this pole can't be beat. its a great buy. i got the 12 ft med action to get some distance on my anchor. i should, or just might get the 16footer for surf casting. i live 10 miles from a bass pro s, and searched for a rod like...

1.0 out of 5 stars Do not buy, product defective
Pole exploded while casting. Shaft of the top blank exploded about 2 inches above the joint while casting. Was casting out bunker and clam on a high-low rig from the surf and then with a sound like a gunshot(everyone one on the beach was wondering what happened)the pole was trashed. Will try to return product, will update as to how the company responds.

Great rod! Bought this & a 15ft Okuma rod at the same time but my next rod will be another of the 12 footers as I feel it's the perfect size for surf fishing.

As previous reviews stated, the sections did stick together after the third trip but came out later w/ soapy water. I then lightly sanded the joints w/300 grit and have had no problems the last 4trips out. If you have to fit the rod into a vehicle for transport, the sticking would be much more of an issue so make sure to sand those joints.

I have had no problems with it, and like the way it handles really well. It has about the right amount of flex for the way I like to fish.

The pole looks solid but I want to remind people that it does not come with a reel. Now I am looking for a reel...

I had hardly gotten this rod to the beach to fish for the first time and the plastic eye hook fell out of the rod's tip. I should have known better than to buy a 12 foot surf rod for $30.00. I did expect to get more than one trip out of it.
