Now you can pack up your rods with ease and head down to any exotic location. The Okuma Nomad saltwater rods are all the rod you need when planning your exotic fishing trip. These rods allow you to create two rods in one. What is extremely unique about this rod series is that the rod comes with (2) different action tips allowing you the verticality to fish a couple different scenarios depending on what fish are biting and the conditions you are faced with out on the water. The innovative and extremely durable European Spigot ferrule design may look different, but it has been tested giving you all the feel and power of a one piece rod but comes in three sections for easy transportation. The connections come together and pull apart simply with the rubberized ferrule grip connection system. Nomad saltwater rods use top quality components such as ALPS 316 stainless steel guide frames with Zirconium inserts and two tone anodized aluminum ALPS reel seats. All Nomad rods come with a water proof caring case that will hold your rods securely and will easily fit above your seat on the plane.

Okuma Nomad travel rod,

The rod looks really nice and well built, but I have issues fitting the pieces together. The butt section and the middle section does not fully seat by almost 5/8 of an inch. Additionally, the medium tip does not fully seat by almost 3/8 of an inch, though the medium-heavy tip fully seats to the mid-section. I contacted Okuma service when I first got the item, they tried to contact product development and they have yet to get back to me.

Travel Rod Joints are oversized,

I have this & 3 Balzar products. They have enough air miles on them to get a free trip anywheres. These ferrules do not fit flush. I presume it is to allow for long term wear. It in no ways compromises the integrity of the rod's flex strength. I have hooked up fish up to 100 lbs on the light action salt water version, trolled with it & landed a 55 lb sting ray with no problems. My equipment is typically superior to the charter's.

Let me start by saying i am very impressed with okumas quality.I purchased this rod (7' h/m) to take on a fishing trip to Hawaii along with a avet lx raptor reel 80# braid 60# mono , the alps reel seat is very solid as is the hole rod . largest fish landed was a 120# + ahi tuna. using the heavy tip and this rod didnt even flinch,having to use a chair because of conditions it performed well the gimbal took a beating (weather conditions) but had just one little scratch .the guides were smooth with both braid and mono. Boat crew was absolutly impressed with the rod then were floored to find out it was a three piece. oh ya and the travel part no problems goes carry on . hope this helped thanks
