Book Description

November 8, 2010
What you will read here is based on fact, not idle speculation. The author, Marvin Rubinstein should know. He started writing Old Age Ain t for Wimps at the age of 86 and finished nearing 88.

If you are over 65, or maybe just over 50, it s easy to be pessimistic about each ache and pain you feel--to face the sensation of aging with trepidation

However, whether you age gracefully or disgracefully, you may find aging a little troubling, but with lots of joyful moments.

In Old Age Ain t for Wimps, you will learn how to treat aging with a little bit of philosophy, a lot of rationality and a huge amount of humor. And the laughs will probably release enough endorphins in your brain to increase your life span.

Buy this book! True, your purchase may make the author a little richer and more comfortable in his old age. But it is sure to make your old age much richer! Read it, think and laugh.

5.0 out of 5 stars comforting to know we are not alone, December 10, 2010
This review is from: Old Age Ain't for Wimps: Comedic Laments from an Aging Sage (Paperback)
I've always been a fan of Marv's and found this to be his best book yet! Whenever we wonder what's going on here regarding a new ache or pain or why we can't recall our best friend's name, it's comforting to know we are not alone! As long as we can see some humor in this aging process, we'll get through it. Thanks to Marv for his courage in discussing his own issues, and helping us smile if not laugh at it all! We're all in the same boat, even it it's beginning to leak.

4.0 out of 5 stars Very funny and too true, December 7, 2010
This review is from: Old Age Ain't for Wimps: Comedic Laments from an Aging Sage (Paperback)
Those of us who are rapidly aging will see ourselves in these good-humored, funny tales of increasing frailty and fading memory. Perhaps my children will get a sense of what's in their future when they read this: prostates, pace-makers, aches, pains and digestive disorders. (Not usually the subject of jokes but a little bit a sugar helps the medicine go down.)

5.0 out of 5 stars A delightful read!, December 7, 2010

This review is from: Old Age Ain't for Wimps: Comedic Laments from an Aging Sage (Paperback)
I thoroughly enjoyed reading "Old Age Ain't for Wimps" which I found so delightful and easy to read! Any adult can relate to the trials and tribulations expressed with humor and honesty by author, Marvin Rubinstein. I highly recommend this book as a perfect gift for the adults and especially for senior citizens in your life. At the end, you will realize that these so-called "golden years" are more like the "rusty years". Still, it gives the reader a good chuckle and gives seniors and other adults a good feeling that their aches and pains are shared by others!
