From the earliest images of the Angels' Flight in Los Angeles, to the Tournament of Roses parades gliding down Colorado Street, the authors celebrate the history of these two beautiful cities through the personal medium of vintage postcards.

About the Author
Both authors are long time postcard collectors. C. Milton Hinshilwood, whose personal collection is pictured here, was educated in Pasadena, and lived in the area for over 35 years. Elena Irish Zimmerman is the author of five other books with Arcadia Publishing, including two volumes on Atlanta, Georgia.

Lack of color makes a dull book.,

The cards are all reproduced in black and white, and many are less than original size. Because of this the beauty, impact and some information provided by color are lost. It could have been so much better with at least some color. As it is, a disapointment.
