I've just learned about the book and am in the middle of reading it now. I knew you (sort of) back in Mrs Mathey's class. Like you, I also did not know why your mother was famous, but my parents assured me that she was. "On Her Trail" is filling me in. What a great story, and fitting tribute to your mom. I'll check back in when I've finished.

Our oldest just stared at the public school around the corner which reminds me very much of Franklin Sherman. I thought of Mrs. Mathey and Mr. Pennywell when I walked him in on the first day. You'll be amused to know that another old classmate of ours, Kevin McDonnell also sends his kids to the same school.
