Terrific Pot Rack,

After spending a bit of time trying to decide if I wanted this rack or not, I decided to make the jump and purchased the item. When the package was delivered I looked at the bag of nuts and bolts and metal rods and thought to myself "oh great ... three hours of assembly" and went to get my power screwdriver. After only 30 minutes or so the rack was fully assembled in my kitchen looking pretty darn good. The pot rack is sturdy and the graphite colored powder finish blends in nicely with my kitchen while helping me keep the clutter to a minimum. The only thing that needs improving is the assembly method connecting the upper half of the rack to the lower half. The two halves are bolted together with four screws on each support but there's enough play in the assembly that the rack kinks if you're not careful and ruins the straight line of the support. Doesn't seem to affect the strength of the rack but it's noticeable. Aside from the aesthetic glitch, the rack is excellent.

I am Woman hear me roar! After receiving the 60" Old Dutch pot stand in graphite from Amazon.com, I decided to wait a couple of weeks before I put it together since one reviewer seemed to have a difficult time with the assembly. Today was my day and I had absolutely no problems putting the pot stand together. The important thing is for everyone to take a moment to read the directions, which are clear, simple and precise. After opening the box and separating the parts, I sat down with a cup of coffee to review the assembly. I took my time, made sure that all parts were available (which they were) and within 45 minutes I had my new, beautiful pot stand. I say 45 minutes, because I occasionally sat down to take a moment for myself before I would start the next part. The pot stand is very level; not wobbly. The metal is nice and thick and the piece looks expensive. The only advice I would give you since I speak from experience putting together cast iron furniture is: don't completely tighten up all the screws until after the entire piece is put together. Once you're satisfied with your assembly, then go ahead and really tighten the screws. My pot stand is beautiful and sturdy! I put all my new beautiful color pieces of LeCreuset enamel cast iron cookware (which I also ordered from Amazon.com) on the stand and feel secure that it will remain sturdy. The stand is large enough that you can fit quite a few large casseroles. skillets and saucepans, but it's small enough that you won't be taking up a large corner of your kitchen or dining area. The stand has beautiful curleques on the top where you could probably put potholders or aprons...I prefer to keep it simple. I have seen similar stands like this at a very famous cookstore in upscale malls for hundreds of dollars more. Amazon.com's price is right, not to mention free shipping. The graphite color is beautiful...sort of a dark charcoal gray (almost but not quite black). The largest shelf starts at the bottom; the smallest at the top. My largest LeCreuset casserole is 5.5 quart but I feel sure that you could place a 9.5 or 11 quart casserole on the bottom shelf. The stand would also look great with plants, books or dishes stacked on the levels. Keep up the great work Old Dutch and Amazon.com!

I wrestled for a looooong time, trying to decide which pot stand to go with. Did I opt for this Old Dutch and save the money? Or go with the big name, sold in Williams-Sonoma version? The price here on Amazon was better than W-S on the 'expensive' one(Enclume CWS6 6-Tier Cookware Stand), and it is welded and assembled. I didn't question its' quality, just whether I really needed to pay for that quality. Or if the considerably less expensive Old Dutch would serve my purposes just as well. In the end, I decided to give the Old Dutch a try, and I'm very glad I did!
First, the downsides: Yes, there is assembly involved. 2 of us (just 2 hands might be tough), a few tips from others here (not to follow the instructions on order, and go ahead and connect the top and bottom), a bit of patience, and around 30 minutes. Not too bad. I do agree the worst/hardest part of it is getting the 2 'levels' perfectly level. It's easy for the middle to get a lean to it and throw off both the line and balance. That said, it's also not that hard to correct/prevent if you're aware. A couple of bubble levels and a few extra minutes of care when tightening the 2 levels together, and we now have a perfectly level pot rack. We had no issues whatsoever with the finish scratching, etc, during assembly. The neutrals: Yes, the top shelves are smaller than the bottom. It's just the nature of the beast, all pot stands that I've ever seen taper. It also means it's balanced and stable. The top shelves did look awfully small to me, but surprisingly fit what I want/need them to. You can see by my picture in 'customer images' that I have a 6-4/3qt oval oven on the bottom (with tons of room leftover). A 3-1/2qt buffet casserole (approx. 12" diameter) snugly on the 2nd shelf. A 4-1/4qt soup pot snugly on the 3rd shelf. And a Chantal teakettle on the top. I have (since the picture) also added a 3-1/2qt oval oven to the 4th shelf. Which leads to the positives: It suits our needs perfectly AND saved a chunk of change doing it. I can't argue with that. Enclume does offer an 8-tier option (Enclume CWS8 8-Tier Cookware Stand), so if you just need an extra shelf or two, perhaps that might work better for you. I've decided that, while I might someday want a few more pieces that would work best on a cookware stand like this (ie. large, awkward, heavy, cast-iron), when that day comes I'll likely just get another one of these - it's still less expensive than the *1* Enclume I was considering to start with! Also, here are some measurements I've found while researching this one, in case it helps anyone else in making a determination: The height between shelves: Between 1 & 2: 5.375-in. Between 2 &3: 7-in. Between 3 & 4: 8.25-in. Between 4 & 5: 9-in. Between 5 & 6: 13.875-in. The width of each shelf: Shelf 1: 7.5-in. Shelf 2: 8.25-in. Shelf 3: 9.25-in. Shelf 4: 10-in. Shelf 5: 11.25-in. Shelf 6: 13-in.

Like other reviewers, I have seen a similar (but smaller) version of this pot rack at a local Sur La Table store. The Sur La Table pot rack is about a foot shorter...and costs $200!! I was able to assemble this pot rack in about 30 minutes--I didn't even have to ask my husband to help! It is a good weight and seems sturdy, even under the weight of 6 LeCreuset cast iron pieces. This rack is very upscale-looking and an excellent value for the price. You should get one!!

I have a set of Analon cookware and it is anodized aluminum. It is non-stick cookware and very expensive, so I don't want to just leave the stuff sitting around. Pot racks that mount on the wall or ceiling are not feasible for me because I live in an apartment. This stand is my cookware solution. It provides me space for each pot and pan, and looks nice as well. If you have a large cookware set like I do, you can also use hooks to hang skillets and stir-fry pans off on the side. The graphite coloring blends in perfect with the dark gray of the anodized cookware, but the pot stand is chic enough to make any cookware set look good. The stand was easy to assemble and I had it put together in about twenty minutes. This pot stand is a great way to organize, store, and display your cookware. I would recommend this to everyone.

My Pile of Pots & Pans Never Looked So Good,

This is a simple metal stand that does a great job. The stand looks great in the corner of my kitchen and allows me to store my cooking items out of the way while still providing easy access.Assembly was easy and made even easier with a power screwdriver -- from box to stacked pans in about 30 minutes assembled on my kitchen table. One improvement I would like to see, however, would be a better fit/join of the vertical supports which are sturdily built but allow a little movement between the two joined pieces. This resulted in the appearance of a slight crimp in the smooth vertical profile of the assembled unit. Only one support did this, however, and that's the support that got tucked into the corner. Overall a very nice additional to my kitchen.

I bought this pot stand to put my stock pots and chili pots onto to free up space. It put together very quickly and seems very sturdy. It looks great. I only have one problem. The bottom shelf holds my 8 qt Le Cruset very well, but the next shelf up is a very tight fit for my taller and narrower Calphalon 8 quart. I have to fit it in just so to keep from scratching it. The rest of the other shelves get progressively narrower, too narrow for any more large pots. I am using it for my Calphalon, not for the larger pots that I wanted it for, and it is still a very tight fit to get the pots into place. I have to take them in and out very carefully in order to not scratch up the sides of my polished pots. Not it does look great, and works perfectly well for these pots, I just wish it were wider so that I could use it for my bigger pots, and you really can't beat the price. I am now looking for a bigger stand.

I bought this pot rack as soon as I saw it because I was conviced there was a typo in the price! All the other racks I looked at online and in stores were hundreds of dollars so I had expected this one to be as well. It looks almost exactly like the standing pot rack at Williams-Sonoma but much cheaper.
Now that I've received it, I can see that it is made of weighty steel pieces. Mine is graphite powder coat finished and even the screws are perfectly matched. As far as the assembly is concerned my son and his friend (both 10 years old) put it together for me in about an hour and for $20 which I thought was a fabulous bargain. I can see the benefit in strength and aesthetics of 3 solid vertical pieces instead of 6 where they're attached half way up like with this one. Obviously the more expensive stands aren't built like this. But for the money you just can't beat it. Plus it's a great way to show off your Le Creuset and keep cookware out of the way and accessable at the same time.

Old Dutch Cookware Stand,

After many visits to the Amazon site, I decided to finally order the Old Dutch Cookware stand. It was the least expensive one I could find and I have been looking for one for quite some time. I received it in a few days and after putting it together I'm extremely pleased with my purchase. The assembly was easy enough and although I did have to call the company for a missing part, they were absolutely wonderful and I received the part in a couple of days. I would definitely order other products from Old Dutch. The quality was excellent, the customer service was outstanding and the price was right. I would highly recommend this product!!!

We have a corner in our kitchen that's tough to use effectively (due to a gas meter and a heating pipe), so when I saw a picture of a similar stand in a magazine, I wanted to try it. This was the cheapest I could find. Putting it together was easy enough; you did have to jiggle some of the pieces around to be able to fit all of them together, however, but otherwise there was no problem. I would advise not to tighten the screws all the way before the stand is assembled. It is sturdy enough for several Le Creuset pots, and it stands firmly. We are very happy with our stand, and would recommend it to others. And the difficult corner has been put to use at last!
