4.0 out of 5 stars Nice canisters
I bought these canisters (and a few of the accessories that match it) to go with my new kitchen that had antique bronze fixtures. They look great! Granted they are not the best sealing canisters in the world but in the dry climate I live it they are fine. I use them for holding my flour and sugar and I have the smaller ones holding utensils on my counter (without lid of...

I just received these canisters today and was a bit let down because they appear to be quality item online, unfortunately, to my dismay they are certainly not! They are unlined and constructed of thin copper, however, I only need them to fill some space on a large counter top. They look great with my "Giallo" coffee tone granite and I only paid approximately $48.00 with shipping from Target so I will keep them for now.
More importantly, I am not a champion baker, so I DO NOT recommend these to anyone who wishes to store baking items such as flour, sugar, coffee etc. as they are impossible to open and feel much like a tin can than a functional canister set. I am, however, won over by their appearance so they will reduced to "super models" for my counter top.

Nice canister set looked at many sets this was best for the money. They could have a better seal(they stick a little) But they look great with dark granite counters.

4.0 out of 5 stars Luv my canisters!, October 2, 2005

They look great in my kitchen and the price was certainly right! The ONLY flaw is that they do leave what appears to be "rust" rings on the counter should there be any moisture. I am looking for something I can brush on the bottom of the canisters to help prevent that from happening anymore. Other than that, I really like them.

4.0 out of 5 stars Beautiful!, September 11, 2005
This review is from: Old Dutch International Antique Embossed Canisters, Set of 4 (Kitchen)
These are extremely beautiful. Very "classy" Looking, more so than simple plain copper cannisters Ive seen. I Have the Granite Counter (BROWN/TAN) and these go very well with it. I am Pleased with the quality, and the Look of these. If Youre looking to "class" up the kitchen , this is the way to go. The Only Thing I did not like was having to remove, the Handles and Put back on correctly. (they have to put them on upside down to pack correctly I guess) It would be easy for most people, But I ended up scratching the inside, with the darn screwdriver trying to get them Off! Other than That THEY ARE GREAT.

4.0 out of 5 stars Kitchen Canister Set, January 9, 2007
This review is from: Old Dutch International Antique Embossed Canisters, Set of 4 (Kitchen)
The canisters look exactly like the picture. Some of the lids were a bit tight which made it hard to take the tops off. My son even tried to open one and pulled the knob right through the lid! He was able to fix it with a small washer. They look great on my granite countertops. Other than the lids being tight, I love them!

3.0 out of 5 stars Love the style but not the tight lids, November 9, 2006

The lids on all 4 of the canisters don't fit well. I've been able to make do with 3 of them, they seem to fit better after use. The 4th however, the largest canister - I ended up throwing out the lid because I could not get it to fit at all! It was going to be my cookie jar but now I use the canister to hold my kitchen gadgets. I was able to order seperately a cookie jar in the same style that works perfectly.

I love these canisters. They are beautiful and add class to my kitchen. I liked them so much I have went online and found everything I can that goes with the collection. Cookie Jar, Utencil holder, papertowel holder, trivet, etc. They really dressed my kitchen up and gave it a much needed makeover.

1.0 out of 5 stars Poor Quality- Would NOT Recommend!!, June 20, 2008
This review is from: Old Dutch International Antique Embossed Canisters, Set of 4 (Kitchen)
These are beautiful canisters; however, the tops on 2 of them were so tight you couldn't get them off without spilling sugar all over the room. We had to use pliers to make them fit which damaged the tops. They are also NOT air-tight. There is no seal. After using them for a couple of months now, we are finding flecks of the black paint on the inside in our sugar and flour. YUCK!! They have turned out to be complete waste of money which is very disappointing because I searched far and wide for beautiful, functional canisters. I will continue my search. :(

4.0 out of 5 stars lid problem, March 3, 2007
This review is from: Old Dutch International Antique Embossed Canisters, Set of 4 (Kitchen)
My 2 qt lid did not fit. It would be nice if they sold each item separately for replacement purposes. I was happy with the color, style and the other items in the set.
