The product description stated that the mug is lacquered to resist tarnishing. After two uses and cleaning with a simple dish towel and soap, the outside of the mug began to tarnish. Additionally, the tin lining in the inside of the mug is already starting to wear out! The capacity of the mug is pretty much the only really good characteristic of this mug. The quality is simply not there with this product. Shop for something else.

Wow! I remembered looking forward to Moscow Mules many years ago while working at a temporary construction job in Denver. Many miles and years later I thought back to how much I enjoyed this potent Vodka drink. I tried making a Moscow Mule in an ordinary glass but it didn't work. The copper mug was missing. This mug isn't cheap but it is worth every penny. The alloy and size are perfect. This mug allowed me to recreate this ice cold excellent drink. Even with ginger ale (instead of ginger beer), trader joes cheap vodka (instead of Absolute) and lemon (instead of lime) the mug makes the drink taste like a genuine Moscow Mule. If you want to taste the Mule then you better get the mug! Cheers!

If you ever have the pleasure to visit Velvet Tango Room in Cleveland, OH and try their Moscow Mule, you will recognize this is the exact same mug they use. These mugs are absolutely perfectly styled and when placed in the freezer for ten minutes they will give your Moscow Mule the frosty bite that makes all the difference. Settle for nothing less. If you want to keep these mugs pristine I'd avoid placing them in the dishwasher because the dried water droplets will leave marks on the copper.

I love the look of this mug, which is good because it's going to be nothing but a wall ornament soon. The tin lining is wearing off after only a few uses. I suspect it's my fault for drinking beer and coffee from the mug. It might do better with non-reactive beverages.

I bought this on impulse while searching for Mint Julep cups. I received the the cup yesterday and made myself a Moscow Mule. The drink stayed cold and the cup sweated nicely. The cup holds a full 16 ounces to the brim, and that is the size of most drinks I like to serve. The description says "Tin lined"; actually I hope it's really not elemental Tin, as I don't want that in my drink. It looks more like a stainless steel lining. And in this day of cheap manufacture I suspect that the steel is only copper plated. The only way to tell for sure is to perform some sort of density experiment ala Archimedes. The cup is reasonably buffed inside and out (except for the bottom--but who looks at that!), but not to a perfect mirror finish. Again, that's to be expected, as most buffing in factories is automated now and no critical eye ever scans the item.

I can feel the presence of protective lacquer, and I appreciate the effort. It will save me working with "Barkeeper's Friend" for the forseeable future. As to price, Amazon.com seems to have the lowest price--I have seen this same cup on other sites for 6-7 dollars more per cup.

All in all, the cup lends a certain amount of elegance and novelty to a party where drinks are being served, and can impress the average guest. It seems to be designed for frequent use and minimal maintenance (though always hand wash your barware; never use the dishwasher). If you absolutely have to have pure, solid copper through and through, look elsewhere (and expect to pay more).

I give it four stars for volume, price, and overall appearance.

I purchased these so that I could drink Moscow Mules at home...only problem is I now need about 10 more of them because everyone that stops by LOVES, LOVES them. I've tried multiple mugs at multiple restaurants, and these are the best I've found. Well worth the cheese.

These copper mugs were purchased for my grandchildren to each have as a special mug when they visit us. I don't know if they really keep their milk colder but the children think that they do. They are old-world-like and the workmanship is lovely.

I have been looking for these Mugs foe sometime. back in late 60's I was a professional Bar Tender in Hawaii and Smirnoff came out with a copper mug for making Moscow Mules in. If you ever make a Moscow Mule you have to have it in a copper Mug along with Ginger Beer. I made one as soon as I received these and was amazed of how cold the copper makes the drink.

It was a great buy and I recommend them to anyone that wants to create this Drink

Christmas present for friend who loves Moscow Mules. She loved them. They look exactly as expected. Haven't gotten them engraved for her yet but can tell will not be an issue.

Mug was good quality and look good, happy with the purchase. Handle was welded on well seems like it will hold up for a long time.
