Even though when you search for "gluten free spanish rice" this item shows up, and when you check its ingredients posted on Amazon, the ingredient listing is wrong, and there is gluten in this product: hydrolyzed vegetable protein (corn, soy, wheat). Also, on the packaging it says, "contains soy and wheat ingredients".

Don't get me wrong, it's a great product and tastes wonderful, but we had bought it for my wife with the expectation that she could eat it, since there is no wheat gluten in the ingredients listing, and sadly, that's not the case.

This is the best Spanish rice I've found. It tastes fresh and yummy by itself, or in a casserole.
RECIPE: Arroz con Pollo (Use only Old El Paso Spanish Rice in a box!)
Boil 3-4 chicken breasts in water with 2 bay leaves and a few pepper corns. Prepare 2 boxes of rice according to directions on box, using chicken broth plus water, if needed. While rice is cooking, debone chicken and shred with fork. When rice is done, add chicken, and 1/2 to 3/4 c. sour cream to rice. Mix well. Layer casserole pan (9 x 13) with refried beans, then add rice mixture. Top with grated cheddar cheese, and heat until cheese is melted. Serve immediately. Put your own twist on it by adding black olives, chopped green onions, jalapenos, etc. Great with green salad. This rice is hard to find in our area, so I've ordered it from Amazon the last couple of times I've needed it. Thanks, Amazon, for making it available to me.

The only store I have seen this rice in is Food Lion which is not nationwide so I am glad Amazon has it, too bad they won't ship food to Hawaii.

Not the best rice ever but pretty good. Have not seen it in any stores around my area so I would probably order this again.

I don't know why this product was taken off the shelves of the markets, it's the best. Amazon is the only place I've been able to find it.

This by far the best spanish rice i have ever eaten. And for some reason I cannot find it in any stores near my house anymore. Thank you Amazon!!!!

lets not forget the importance of rice in our diet. This is outstanding rice that has a very nice taste and an almost perfectly uniform shape. On the downside I noticed that some of the rice are smaller than some others, I just took them out and put them to the side. I contacted the company and they said that is common and not to worry about it
