Best Scratch Cover,
This review is from: Old English Scratch Cover for Dark Woods: 8 OZ (Health and Beauty)
I can't believe that no one has written a review for this product! My husband and I bought an end table for two dollars at an auction. I'm sure the price was because of all the scratches on the end table. My husband used this several times, and the table looks like new. When I was cleaning the living room, I used it on a low boy that we have, and now it looks great, too. We bought an antique cherry china cabinet, same thing: the scratches are gone. It polishes the wood really well. Be sure not to get it on yourself as this will stain clothes. This really is the best product I know for this sort of thing.

I have used this on old furniture to bring out the shine and cover scratches. I have tried several other scratch cover options but love this old stand by product the best. Not only does it cover scratches and restore shine, but it is also cleans and conditions the wood. I use it to maintain all my medium and dark wood furniture as part of my routine dusting as well as to gently restore items. I have used it on wood floors, though this is NOT recommended. It does make the floor very slick for a few days, but it covered the many small scratches in our wood floor beautifully. Just use caution in that area for a few days.

Old English Furniture Polish and Scratch cover for dark wood,

This stuff is great. It does exactly as it claims it will do. It covers the blemishes on my dark teak wood floors. I had a couple BIG knicks from dropping cans or knives on the wooden flooring. But Old English did the trick. The knicks are invisible to the eye. I even have a hard time trying to find them when I get on my hands and knees to feel for them. I highly recommend this product. A little bit goes a long way. I believe that this 8 oz bottle will last for years.

Restored cabinets to match the day we moved in!,

We tried this on a whim and have nothing but praises for it. Our cherry cabinets have a whitewash glaze that showed every scratch. Over 7 years and 2 toddlers, they accumulated quite a bit of wear. After 30 minutes of using this product, they look like the day we moved in, save for a few of the deeper gouges.
I couldn't recommend anything else to help restore cabinets. We were almost at the point of getting them replaced or re-finished. Not anymore!!!

I was skeptical when I purchased this, simply due to the fact that our three cats have turned the kitchen table into their personal scratching post. I mean, it looked like Freddy Krugar had been eating breakfast there every day. I put this stuff on twice, and now you can barely see the cat scratches. It's rather amazing and I wish I would have found this a lot sooner.

The cleaning lady sprayed Windex on a mahogany table and it turned almost white.
The Old English restored the appearance immediately. 4 stars instead of 5 because even after several weeks I have to re-apply weekly. It either soaks into the wood or evaporates and gets dull again.

wow.. easy to do as a polish, but looks like a refinish,

I used this stuff, which has a thin water-like consistency, with an old rag and in about a half hour my entire inherited bedroom set looked miraculously new. I used it on my oak entertainment set, my mahogany blanket box, my walnut dressers, and a few wood items of unknown origin I was so impressed with it's performance. My husband asked me if I had refinished our blanket box it was so good looking. It blended out water spots, scratches, and damage and made the overall finish beautifully shiny and lustrous.
It goes on exactly like an ordinary polish, but you sort of... rub it in a little. It is not a dye exactly, because it leaves all the wood grain beautifully visible and not muddied, and it does not darken the overall piece, but it sure does stain your rag. I worried it would make the scratches weirdly dark because it is for dark wood, but it doesn't. It is colored of course, but it acts more like a miracle blending polish blending into all my woods. I don't have any pine or bamboo however, and would probably recommend the light formula for those woods. However for all medium and dark woods this is a wonderous potion.

Tried it out on the coffee table, didn't fix light scratches or small nick. Wouldn't even darken the areas. It is almost as if it is too watered down (I did shake the hell out of the bottle) Additionally, after application a clean cloth kept taking brown off long after it should have dried and polished off.
