About the Author

James Weidman is the author and illustrator of An Old-Fashioned Christmas Story. Weidman resides in Virginia with his wife Barb. "Art changed for me after my retirement, from a hobby status to a full time occupation. I knew that this is what I wanted to do when I retired.I like nothing more than to take an idea to a blank sheet of paper and create something that can uplift the spirit of the viewer or be considered beautiful by some. I think we can improve at any age as long as we are still striving and I have nothing but admiration for all that just create for the love of it."

Author James Weidman didn't create An Old-Fashioned Christmas Story overnight...in fact, this heartwarming book took many years, rewrites, hard work and dedication. His delightful tale and amazing illustrations (yes, he did both!) are a must for anyone who wishes to capture the youthfulness of the holiday. An Old-Fashioned Christmas will be sure to delight both young and old for centuries to come.

5.0 out of 5 stars A breath taking tale for the whole family, December 19, 2008
By
Andrew James Swallow (Salt Lake City, Utah, USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: An Old-Fashioned Christmas Story (Paperback)
As a theatre student and professional actor and model very rarely do I find a piece of literary work that surpasses all expectations and modes of writing. Many books are captivating with the the purpose to sell books, however Mr. Weidman wrote this book not with the intention to make money off this book but to touch the hearts of all.

This book is one of a timeless tale that will remain forever in hearts of those who still believe in the Magic of Christmas. An Old Fashioned Christmas Story is one that will be read for generations to come. Very rarely do you see the author of a book who is also the illustrator captivate the audience in both prose and visual media from the very same piece of work. This book will leave children on all ages on the edge of their seats waiting to find out what happens next. It is great way to read a story over many nights leading up to Christmas and can be a time honored tradition in your family. James Weidman is a remarkable author and a exquisite artist and has much talent that appeals to all genres.
