This book is essential for anyone trying to recreate classic cocktails in a bar or at home. The little bits of information and history are great! There was nothing wrong with these drinks the first time around, we should stop ruining them.

I love this book. If you're a REAL cocktail drinker, that likes the taste of alcohol (aka, not Cosmos), then this book is for you. Some classic ones, and some I hadn't heard of. But all of them are very good. Highly recommended.

Got this for my hubby for Christmas! The drinks are pretty basic, maybe even classics. There are lot's of sayings and photos in black and white that really make reading this fun. A great item to have on your bar while preparing your friends their favorite drinks! Makes a unique gift !

Great conversation piece to have floating around your home bar area. It's got some great one liners to laugh and talk about. I'm too young for my time. Barely out of college, I smoke cigars and a pipe, love scotch, so this is right up my there. Check it out if you want some out of style/forgotten drinks or if you need something differnt on your coffee table or bar.

The drinks and the stories are great, just what I expected. The barstool wisdom and advice is a bit silly, it's just random (often a bit sexist) quotes from random guys with little to no strong through-line, intent or even comedic value. Our response when reading through was not much laughter as a deflated, "oh, well... okay. the recipes look good anyway"

Pretty good for the bar, not great for conversation.

We bought this for a friend for Christmas who is only 30, but has always been sort of an "old soul". He likes smoking a pipe and drinking bourbon... so we thought this was a perfect gift! He really got a kick out of it and loved it. We thumbed through a lot of it before wrapping it and liked the book a lot. We might even get one for ourselves. My husband discovered he really likes an Old Fashioned drink from this book!
