Book Description

June 21, 2004
Creative by nature, Gautam Dhar seeks an image in everything. From a drop of the early spring rain to a shivering bird when it snows. The charisma in all life forms never fails to make him ponder. Born in a small town in India, Gautam started writing in high school, though nothing serious came of it until he was a freshman in college. Most of his poems feature his experiences and real people he has met at different stages of his life. This is a nostalgic collection of poems enwrapped with love and serenity that a heart longs for.

Editorial Reviews

From the Author

The Old Man Said is more than poetry. It's never easy to express yourself in words and when it does happen, wishes start to seem sweeter than wine. From traditional poetry to folk ballads, this Anthology tries to reveal true picture of a loving heart. From a Lone Wolf Crying to a Man Who's Lost in Love, The Old Man Said brings back all those photographs and memories out of your memory that usually sit locked-up behind the walls of your fears and emotions. So, don't forget to read what The Old Man Said..

About the Author

Born in a small town in India, Gautam Dhar has come a long way and could have never conjured publishing a book. He had never thought much of writing until on a cold winter's night two years ago when words just started flowing like the creek in a forest. Currently, a senior at Michigan State University, Gautam is proud to have composed this heartfelt Anthology of Poems.

In his time off from work and college, he writes short stories, poetry in English and Urdu, plays a bit of Guitar and goes out with his camera to capture nature every once in a while. This is a nostalgic collection of poems that are bound to touch its readers.
