What a wonderfull old book about the first settlers of new zealand, parts of this will make you laugh at the authors antics! and the second part is about the first MAORI EUROPEAN war aka the flag staff war, from a maori cheifs perspective, so is very different interpretation of Europeans of the age.You don't have to be a scholar of nz history to enjoy this book.highly recommended
