5.0 out of 5 stars Awesome CD - this is a must buy!
This CD has quickly become one of my favorites. When Pepper first came out with Kona Town it blew me away and this one deffinately builds on it. With this CD, they've developed their own unique style that nothing compares to. Its still got that sublime-reggae-dub feel but no one could say they're sublime rip-offs - this disk is completely orignial. Awesome guitar (more...

3.0 out of 5 stars Nothing groundbreaking
Pretty much your typical laid back surfer/beach band. I have this CD tree stars because it isn't bad, but with the talent that these guys have, I just wish they would do something more original with it. The lyrics are so cliché you just gotta laugh. On their previous album "Kona Town", they totally blast Creed, and while there is no diagreement on...

Its still got that sublime-reggae-dub feel but no one could say they're sublime rip-offs - this disk is completely orignial. Awesome guitar (more prominent than kona) and the bass still kicks. If you have the chance, go see this Hawaiian trio live; they've got so much energy. My favorite songs are Are You Down, Use Me, & Look what I Found but I can't find a song i dont like.

Pepper is one of the most under rated bands out right now. It seems like finding a good reveiw on them is impossible. Its like people are afraid to admit they like em. Bottom line is this CD is amazing just like their other ones. Buy it, listen to it, don't give a shiz about what other people say, and I bet you will love this CD. One day this band will the respect they deserve.

4.0 out of 5 stars Good But You Can Do Better, February 16, 2005
This review is from: In With the Old (Audio CD)
This Cd is a good one, but I know Pepper can do better. My favorite song on this Cd is Back Home. If you like the sound of Pepper's music, but you don't like all of the songs on this Cd I suggest one of their other Cds called Kona Town.

This CD while not as punk/reggae influenced as their previous offerings is by all means a great CD in the world of music. Myself being one that while I do not enjoy pop music in the slightest I do have a deep appreciation for what makes music popular and therefore I am impressed to hear more of a pop influence in this album. The songs are crisp and clean while keeping there roots in reggae and the music that has influenced them since they started playing together in the late-90's. This album is phenomenal when compared to almost any other band(minus personal preferences) and as compared to their previous work this record is another stepping stone on Pepper's way to greatness.

5.0 out of 5 stars Pepper is Infectious, July 26, 2005

Once you get into the groove of Pepper you can't go back. They fill a void left by Sublime, but are different and cool in their own way. I own an insane number of CD's (600 or so) yet I listen to this band at least a few times a week, usually more. Anyone who gives these guys a crappy review should have their ears checked.

5.0 out of 5 stars To all the doubters:, November 10, 2005
This review is from: In With the Old (Audio CD)
To all those who doubt the talent and originality of pepper, see them in concert, they arent a sublime wannabe, when i hear pepper i dont think of sublime at all i think of pepper, i dont see many similarities except what some might call reggae/alte mix, either way Kona Town set the standard, and In with the Old does a fine job of changin up the pace and bringin us somethin new and stellar.

Well I got into this band because they compared to the likes of Slightly stoopid, Sublime, Long Beach Dub All Stars and 311. But when I heard this album it sounded nothing like it. They took a huge leap towards the alternative genre and stepped away from the reggae rasta scene. At first I was disgusted but then after a couple listens I realized that while it may be different, this album was still great in its own way. If you are just getting into the band I would get Kona Town and Givin it first, but this is also worth buying as well.

4.0 out of 5 stars sweet...but kona town still reigns, April 18, 2004

This review is from: In With the Old (Audio CD)
this album is incredible, but the reason i didn't give it five stars was because i was looking for another album just like kona town..that album is probably my favorite album in my collection of cd's..it rocks me and moves me in ways i can't understand..i feel that "In with the Old" is more like 311's revolver..a sound that you will have to get used to because it is different than their other albums...Ron Saint Germain produced this album for pepper and same with 311's revolver..i feel that they are somewhat similar in certain aspects..i still absolutely love "In with the Old" because i am a huge pepper fan, but if you are new to the band..check out KONA TOWN first. catch you on the flip side....

I love Pepper's Pink Crustean's CD so I bought this one without hearing any of the songs. It's even better than the first one.

5.0 out of 5 stars Add Some Pepper to Your Music Library, September 21, 2010

There is a good quote I read about this band one time..."While some bands do ska better, no band does it more fun than Pepper." "Use Me" might be one of my favorite songs of all time, but it is not just one song that makes this album. It's the fact that you can use the term album in describing it. The word album is the proper description as it is cohesive and fun to listen to the whole way through. Outsid eof Kona Town, this is probably my favorite album of their's.
