Remember the old style school desks we used to use? The ones with hinged lids and tons of space for storing items. This lap desk replicates the utilitarian beauty of those desks and is further enhanced by richly stained wood. The brass hinged lid reveals plenty of storage space. Another brass hinge holds the lid up while you're looking for something in the generously sized storage space. Divided in two, one side measures 2-3/8" wide x 11-1/4" long and 1-1/2" deep. It's the perfect size for your favorite pens, pencils, erasers and other small items. The second side is much larger at 12-1/8" wide x 11-1/4" long and 1-1/2" deep and will hold your notebooks, calculator, envelopes, and even small books. Both internal sections are lined in protective green felt. Underneath the lap desk is a non removable foam bead filled pillow, providing solid support for your lap desk and comfort for your lap. The cotton canvas pillow should be spot cleaned only. This is no flimsy, lightweight veneer covered piece. It's made of solid wood and weighs in at almost five pounds. I got jewerly and electronics for Christmas but this was honestly my favorite gift this year. I am a returning college student and this has helped me so much from writing my assignments to using to balance my laptop or storing my writing utensils and paper. I got it in the mail as a gift from a family member that lives in another state, and it was packaged well and arrived right on time from when my family member told me to expect it. I would definitely suggest this lap desk to others.

This lap desk is nice lookng as well as very functional. It is large enough to just fit between the arm rests of my recliner, and it is padded well enough to do so comfortably. It has a nicely lined inside storage space sectioned off to keep your writing instruments or tools away from your book or whatever else you might use the desk for. My daughter borrows it for her laptop when she visits, and says that she likes that it sits a little higher than other flat type laptop desks she has usded.

I am impressed with the quality and usefulness of this Lap Desk. The large storage compartments are useful for keeping supplies organized, and can hold a large amount of supplies. I am very impressed that this model can hold all of my study supplies, so that I don't have to hunt for supplies as I need them. Getting organized has greatly improved my study time and I like the idea of all my supplies in one convenient place. Also something I like to note is that the felt lining prevents the items from rolling around to much which is very nice. Lap desks are a valuable study aid by providing a portable writing surface for the user to study from any where they are comfortable, and keeping all supplies and books together as needed. This is a great gift for any student or aspiring artist to have. This is a lap desk you will be proud to own and use for years to come.
