Old Smokey Electric Smoker Replacement Heating Element

This element is the heart of my home made smoker and I needed the hottest element I could find. I've checked out a couple of other elements on here and they did have a little more power than this one. This one happens to be 1250w at 120v. The only reason why I stuck with this 'lower' wattage unit is because of the quality. I've been seeing some bad reviews on the more powerful units, mostly about them failing after a short time. I assume maybe because they are just a little too hot. Anyway my smoker is about 2 times bigger than this element was designed for. But I ended up insulating my smoker and it can easily reach over 300 degrees no problem. I won't ever use it over 250F so there shouldn't be a problem. I hope this one will last me a good while unlike the others I hear about. I've heard some good reviews about this one and I'm just adding another good one. Overall I like it, it is small but don't let it fool you. Get the right thermostat and you should be set!

Purchased for a home made large smoker. Unit was able to bring the cabinet up to 230 degrees. Very satisfied.

I bought this to replace the electric element in my Brinkmann Smoker. However, after retrofitting my smoker to allow this element to fit it just does not get my smoker hot enough (wont seem to go above 210).
