He loves it because he can comb it and it still behaves - if it's windy, he gets his hands wet to reactivate the paste and he's in great shape again; it holds without stiffness. I love it because he looks good - suddenly the hair is resembling Sam's on Supernatural (even if he won't admit it outright, that's what he's going for) instead of either a slicked-down seal or a hopeless bedhead. And, oh my, does this smell good. It's not traditional Old Spice, but something similar. After more than 30 years, I'm sidling up and sniffing him every morning as if we were newlyweds. Love it
A little dab will do you. A very small dab. This Old Spice paste is inexpensive and works like a boss. He loves using it and I love him using it. The gel has been tossed out; he says he's sticking with this and I'm glad. He looks so much better that I'd give this product six stars if I could!
It does not take much to get a nice, styled look. I Included a picture because I wanted it to be obvious that this product is the glossy style. I always apply with damp hands and damp hair - so you may be able to get a more matte finish with dry hair & hands, but I'd be afraid you might be able to see some of the white paste if you don't take a lot of time to rub it in. In any case, if you're not after the glossy finish, Old Spice clearly labels their products to indicate, and there is a different variation to try out.
It smells quite similar if not the same as my Old Spice Fiji collection. The scent is not overwhelming and fades considerably once it dries, but I find it to be pleasant enough to prefer it to unscented.
Compared to my Redken paste, this stuff is less pasty/sticky and more waxy, but still with somewhat of a pasty texture. It is definitely easiest applied with wet hands. It has a medium to light hold - your hair gets slightly stiff but still somewhat flexible. If your hair gets messed up through the day, you can always dampen hands and refresh.
Last but not least, I have not experienced the dreadful white flakes that you get with cheap gel products. Even if I try and rub the product out dry, there is no flaking - my hands just get a bit sticky.
All in all, a great product. I will continue to leave it in my gym bag, and when my other products run out at home, will likely be buying one of these for the bathroom!
I received a sample of this product for free to try out and give my honest opinion on.

Great product but $9+ is absolutely unreasonable. Used to come here for a discount, now I'll just drive 100 miles to get it from the store and still save money.Published 2 months ago by R. Rosenow
