Horst Dietrich Preuss, following in the tradition of classic Old Testament theologies developed by scholars like Walther Eichrodt and Gerhard von Rad, presents a comprehensive analysis of the theology of the Old Testament. Utilizing the most recent scholarship available, Preuss proposes that the central and unifying theme of Old Testament theology is God's acts of election and covenant and the subsequent human responses to God. Special attention is given to the Sinai and Exodus traditions, the figure of Moses, and the themes of law and land.
