5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent Reference.
Manly P. Hall has written a number of books on the occult and traditional religious beliefs. This is part one of a 2 part series(the other part being "The Mystical Christ"). This book is amazing and thought provoking. Starting with a brief history of how the Holy Bible came to be what it is today, Hall takes the reader through the evolution of the ancient Greek and...

3.0 out of 5 stars Slow, Enlightening, with Imagination
This book started out very slow for the first 3 chapters, but then I was also reading the Bible with this book to better understand the names of the people that the book was talking about.

Manly P. Hall has written a number of books on the occult and traditional religious beliefs. This is part one of a 2 part series(the other part being "The Mystical Christ"). This book is amazing and thought provoking. Starting with a brief history of how the Holy Bible came to be what it is today, Hall takes the reader through the evolution of the ancient Greek and Sanskrit text and other interpretations and translations. Then he shows the reader the various allegories of the Old Testement and how it relates to our daily lives. The stories of Moses, Solomon and Sheba and the coming of Christ make this an excellent reference for those searching for clarity and meaning in the "Revealed Word" of God. I highly recommend this book to those in the Masonic Order and Order of Eastern Star. Many of these stories relate directly to information given throughout those respective rituals.

It was a little slow when it came to me using my imagination but as soon as I turned the TV off and picked up my dictionary then opened my book, my imagination took over and it was like I was there at the time of King David. But why am I reading this book "the Bible"? I have a Bible why did Manly Hall write about the Bible? Then the more I read the better it became, the book talks about a lot of great times but it also takes you back to the organization of Masonry. It gave you an inside look at things, that to my knowledge were not to be told, but then Manly Hall know's better than I do...
