I read the Old-Time River Rats: Tales of Bygone Days along the Wild Mississippi some time ago from a local library. I have thought about the book and we often travel the Mississippi River area from Prescott, WI southward. We enjoy the river even more after reading the book. We bought the book so I can refer to it time after time. If you like nature, the river, times past, fishing, birding, you will love this book too. The book is most enjoyable, informative and a delight to read and think about. Well worth buying and reading.
