5.0 out of 5 stars There's "No Bridge I Wouldn't Cross" to get this CD!, May 27, 2000
By A Customer
This review is from: Old Trick New Dog (Audio CD)
This CD is amazing! Da-idy has been my favorite for what seems like forever. When I saw that he had new material out (in '98)--I had to have it!

He sounds so great--even better (I think) than when he used to hang out in a velvet suit and drive around in a painted bus.

My favorite songs on this CD are "No Bridge I Wouldn't Cross", "I Think I Love You", "You Were the One", "Let Her Go", "I Can Feel Your Heartbeat", "I Woke Up In Love This Morning", "(Whatever Happened To)Pece, Love and Happiness", "Sheltered in Your Arms", "Show and Tell", "Ricky's Tune", and No. 11--Whoops, that's all of them! This is one of my favorite Da-idy CD's.

Wouldn't it be nice if Arista would re-issue his old stuff ("Dreams Are Nuthin' More Than Wishes", "The Higher They Climb...", "Home Is Where The Heart Is", "Cassidy Live!", "Cherish", "Rock Me Baby", and the stuff previously only released in the U.K.) in their entirety. Instead they take bits and pieces from here and there and slap a name like, "David Cassidy Collection" on it. "Maybe Someday"...

The point is, buy this CD today and enjoy it. He sounds great and still looks adorable!

P.S. If you're in Vegas--please see his new show at the Copa--you won't be disappointed!

Thank you David, for keeping our hearts close to yours through your excellent music! This CD is a must for David Cassidy fans and new listeners. Not only are a number of the tracks remixed and reminiscent of the old Partridge days, but the new songs are great material! Timeless for 2000 and the future is David Cassidy!

4.0 out of 5 stars This is not your Parents Partridge Family........., January 27, 2000

Although not a fan of the newer "techno pop" music, this album appeals to a wide base and successfully introduces David to a new generation. I play music in my office constantly, my Administrative Assistant (early 20's) made a rare comment about liking this CD in particular, her favorite song being "I Woke up in Love this Morning". She has no clue about a Partridge Family past and made no association to the original. (also played frequently). David Cassidy has firmly established himself in our hearts and minds - it would be nice to see him get the recognition he has earned as more an artist for the people than the critics. I did miss the contribution from Sue Shifrin which featured her talents in writing and background vocals on an earlier effort. For those like myself who consider the "Dreams are Nothin' More than Wishes" LP the high water mark, you'll enjoy "No Bridge I Wouldn't Cross" -and-"Sheltered in Your Arms". Like I said, there's something for Everybody here. So C'mon - Get Happy. ; )
