3.0 out of 5 stars petty neat, October 26, 2005
This review is from: Old Wives Tales (Audio CD)
cutesy bubblegum pop music heavy on the synthesizers. the vocals are high pitched and give the music a very innocent and wide-eyed with wonder feel. there are a few really good hooks on here and Joy Electric seem to have carved themselves a cool identity with their fantasy lyrics that seem to take great inspiration from old tyme children's stories.

4.0 out of 5 stars Not a bad album, January 13, 2000
This review is from: Old Wives Tales (Audio CD)
This was the first Joy Electric CD I purchased, which was in a used CD store in the cheap bin. Anyway, this CD is a good effort. The Erasure/Yaz influence is there, but JE retains their own voice in the world of analog synth. The only weak track is "I Beam, You Beam" which really destroys the album (I am sorry to say) and maked me think of Gary Numan's "I Die: You Die"...especially the end of the song. Nonetheless it is is worth checking out.

Hello, My name is Daniel. I have heard this CD and I must say, the remix of my favorite song (Burgunday Years), was awesome. I have always been impressed with Joy electric's talent for synth pop music. You never hear much of it anywhere. That makes Joy Electric a truly unique Artist. I hope they keep up the good work. Thank you for reading.
