Book Description

January 30, 2006
I decided to write this book because my children were always asking me to tell them stories about "the olden days." I wrote all of these stories about how I grew up in Mississippi in the 1920 and 30s. I thought it was important for our children to know what life was like 75 years ago. Also, I thought other people our age could identify with these times, and younger people could see what life was like in the 20s and 30s.I started writing about when I was five years of age and wrote up to the age of fifty five. Now there are fifty eight stories or chapters.

This review is from: The Olden Days: Growing Up in Mississippi (Paperback)
I read this book, and the author gives you a complete picture of what it was like for her growing up in the early to mid 1900's. It's a fantastic book to read for those interested in a childs point of view of how life is growing up in a rural Mississippi.
