My husband gave me this book on our first wedding anniversary. Since this is a second marriage for both of us, we are continually amazed at the "newness" of us and the fact that we feel like we have known each other forever. This book expressed that wonderful dimension of love: that of the older adults. It is perfect for young newlyweds, older, longtime married people and for mature adults embarking on another marital adventure, this time with the wisdom of age, the crucial knowledge of self that enables us to truly know another and the faith that "all things really do work together..." including divorce and remarriage when God is present. Enjoy!

Warren Hanson has done it again with his new book "Older Love." As in "The Next Place," he has put into words and illustrations a message that is not easily conveyed. "Older Love" tells the story of a couple that has enjoyed the thrills and excitement of young and beginning love, gone through the trials of a family growing up, and now has time to celebrate being together again. Older love is indeed a very special love. Those that know a couple "in the golden years" that are enjoying the benefits of older love indeed can relate to this book.

While reading the book, I was reminded of the sweet relationship my parents had in the last few years of their lives.

This book would make a wonderful gift for a golden anniversary!

I had the honor of reading this book to an audience one Sunday afternoon which receive such a gracious reponse from the group, they listened as if they were spellbound. Since then one lady has purchased many copies to pass on to close friends who were celebrating anniversaries. She and her husband also had the book read to the friends and families in attendance at their 50th Wedding anniversary celebration. "Older Love" has a special place in our circle of "older" friends.

I always try to keep an extra of this book on the shelf for when an anniversary comes around for special people. I received this book years ago and just love it. Everyone I have given this book to just loves the verse and the beautiful graphics. I am so happy I can always go to Amazon.com when I need more copies.

The book "Older Love" that I purchased recently is a very nice gift to give for folks celebrating their 50th wedding anniversaries. Wonderful gift book.

This is a very fine book for couples married a long time and whose age is in the "senior" category.

great book for a older anniversary gift especially 50th anniversary. hard cover nice pictures and verses. my amazon coppy had a small tear on corner of the corner of the jacket of the book which was not seen until I opened it but jacket gives a nice presentation. Do to amazon mail packaging.

Last night we listened to Warren Hanson reading this book at our annual Cana Dinner at St Al's Church. His reading of this book reached right inside our hearts. We purchased the book, and he autographed it for us... a special treat to ourselves in our 50th year of marriage. If you do not own this book, you must have it.

Whew! What wonderful, choice words Warren Hanson uses to describe love--from first love to "older love," whether he means being in love again when you are older, or the love between people who have been together for years upon years.

His subtle rhyme describes love, especially older love, using images of wine, hands, old shoes, and so much more.

My favorite page says: "Yes, our faces show the traces of the years that have gone by, But it's hard to see the wrinkles with a twinkle in your eye." His "aging together" is so true; just ask me after almost 38 years of marriage (to the same guy!)

The older love concept is so beautifully illustrated--it's simply great knowing that everyone who has a long love will find themselves in this book.

Hanson is both the author and illustrator--as he did on his amazing The Next Place. He is well known for his illustrations on now-famous The Christmas Cup of Tea.
