5.0 out of 5 stars Base of Religious Laws, October 15, 2003
This review is from: The Oldest Code of Laws in the World: The Code of Laws Promulgated by Hammurabi, King of Babylon, B.C. 2285-2242 (Hardcover)
Code of Hammurabi is a unique work of humanbeings about modifyig the basic code of laws in history. Actually it is a penal code .There is no detail about Judicial system of that time in this code.We know little about procedure of courts through this code.

It is a collection of old laws of that time to guide the courts for justice and save from abuses of laws

Its study is useful to understand the nature of old laws and to approach the modern laws ,because several new laws are based on this code ,especially religious laws like eye for eye etc

This book is very useful to understand the laws of Hammurabi
