Excellent account of one man's journey,
This review is from: Oley Valley Inn: A Culinary Journey (Hardcover)
This book is a wonderful story of one man's pursuit of his dream. Steve Yeanish provides the reader with a detailed account of his struggle to establish his fine dining restaurant in suburban Philadelphia.
This reporter has known Steve as a friend for almost 20-years and has had the pleasure of dining in his restaurant on many occasions. Steve is an artist of high caliber and his culinary skills are apparent to all of his dining customers. The book, A Culinary Journey also contains a number of Steve's recipes. These are treats not to be missed. I recommend the Culinary Journey to all and strongly recommend a trip to The Oley Valley Inn. James P. Hoban Oley Valley Inn: A Culinary Journey

A Great Pennsylvania Dutch Cookbook,
This review is from: Oley Valley Inn: A Culinary Journey (Hardcover)
This is such a great book! Now that the Oley Valley Inn is closed, my family can recreate our favorite meals at home, like the Moravian Sugar Cake or the Berks County Mushroom Chowder, the Oley Valley onion soup or the sticky buns, the list goes on and on! The recipes are clear and easy to use, and don't call for loads of fancy hard-to-get ingredients, it's good down-home Pennsylvania cooking.
Thankfully the cover is hardback and you can wipe it off after using it in the kitchen, or prop it up to read the recipes while you cook. Very highly recommended! |
