Product Description

Olio Santo is an ancient term meaning Oil of the Saints and refers to a time when the first press of the olives, the best oil, was allocated to the church for use in religious ceremonies. Today, Olio Santo extra virgin olive oil is still the finest oil of the harvest, cold-pressed and blended in small batches to insure consistent quality, flavor, and freshness. This versatile olive oil can be used on salads, in cooking, as a finishing oil, or enjoyed simply with a fresh baguette. A winner of the Silver Medal at the 1999 Sonoma County Harvest Fair, Olio Santo oil is Certified Extra Virgin by the California.

I have tried many olive oil's but most of the time I do not like them. None of the general store bought brands. I should point out that I do not eat olives either. I have found a few good olive oil's that are excellent flavor for cooking.... and this is definitely one of them. I purchased this one after seeing the Barefoot Contessa using this brand of Olive Oil (Regular rather than extra virgin).... This is so yummy even just drizzled on plain pasta.

One of three bottles was received broken. Initial inquires to the sender were ignored. Complaint to Amazon resulted in a refund (less postage)when a replacement was requested.

Olio Santo comes highly recommended-so ordering 3 bottles seemed a good idea-NOT!! When one receives 3 in March, and the expiration date on the bottles is only a few months hence, one has thrown money away. Shame on the company for sending out this as such. I had to give away so that I knew it would not go bad.
