I've waited to write this review so that I could give a more accurate picture of how this iron performed over the long haul. I saw this iron on F&P " Love of Quilting" and it was love at first site. Loved the pretty yellow color and the "feet" which would lift it up when I forgot to stand it on it's end, which I frequently do. I researched, I read the reviews on here and despite the negative ones, they seemed to run about 50/50 pro and con, I decided I had to have it. My husband bought this iron for me for my birthday in September '11. I wanted to love this iron, I really did. As a pretty serious quilter, my iron does get a workout, which is why I thought I needed a "better" one than my $20 Black and Decker. I was so in love with the itouch feature that I ignored how heavy it was compared to my previous iron and the fact that I really had to work to get the wrinkles out. What I can no longer ignore is that, after a little over a year of use, this iron has now started leaking. At first, it was just little spits and spurts if I left the steam on when I walked away from it. Now, when I fill it and walk away, every bit of water in the tank pours out, all over the ironing board and the floor and whatever else happens to be nearby. When I contacted Olisio, they said I could send it in and they would repair or replace it for $70. Now, I don't know about anyone else, but I'm thinking that an iron that I paid $160 for should have a longer warranty than the one I paid $20 for at Walmart.
So now, as I try to decide whether or not to fork out another $70 for an already stupidly overpriced item, that may or may not do the exact same thing after another year of use, I'm back to using my $20 Black and Decker.

I got this iron last week and was able to spend a full 12 hours (on and off) ironing with it recently. On one occasion during my marathon ironing session, I did have some water come out of the iron, but it was when I overfilled the water tank and was ironing forcefully and rapidly. It didn't leak from the steam vents, it appeared to splash a drop of water from above, and it wasn't a shocker to me. My GE iron used to soak my clothes out of the steam holes, every ironing session, so I know what 'spitting' is, and this iron definitely does not 'spit'.

I bought this model because as a quilter, I wanted an iron with an auto shut off, but I wanted an extended shut off time (the other models turn off a lot more quickly than this one). I love how fast this iron heats up. As for actual ironing--it does a very nice job---no better than any other iron would...every iron is simply a hot metal plate that presses out wrinkles..it's not rocket science...it's all about the bells and whistles, and this one is, by far, the most unique iron on the market today with the loudest bells and whistles.

I ironed over buttons, snaps, used spray starch and Mary Ellen's best press, I steamed, I sprayed, I turned it off and on. I had a little film on the soleplate when I was done (having used almost a full can of spray starch and a quarter bottle of Best Press) and it wiped right off with a Clorox wipe (which I also used to wipe off the spray starch residue from it's colorful plastic body). It was easy to add water to, and it was even easier to empty the water from the tank when I was done. I was ironing in a tight space, and as many times as I bumped into the ironing board squeezing past, not once did the iron fall off onto the floor.

I purchased this iron in January, 2010 and by March, 2010, the front scorch guard broke. Oliso never responded to my emails, finally contacted me by telephone weeks later and refused to honor their warranty. I was informed their products don't break, I had to have dropped it (I truly didn't!), they don't repair anything, I can't have it repaired anywhere because no parts are available. My only recourse was to pay them $72 for them to replace my 2 month old iron. Buyer beware--this company is not reputable.

Saw one of these at a home and garden show. Was impressed with the abilities of the unit. So I came home and researched it and actually found this top of the line model for less than they were selling for at the show. So I bought it. Let me say one thing first. The bottom of the unit does not have the number of holes in the middle of the plate that the model below this does. That might make the difference. But this unit did not get hot enough to get wrinkles out and had very little steam on top of that. The feet that come out to keep you from having to put the iron up after use is cool, but honestly it was hard to get used to, and I worried that it would be a feature that might break before the iron did. You can choose to disable this feature but when you put it up on its end, it leaks water. Im assuming and hoping the unit was defective but I bought two of them and both of them had the same problems. Whats the point on having an iron that doesnt get the wrinkles out anyway?? I ended up buying a regular old rowenta iron and it works great. Cudos to Amazon for making the return hassle free. Thats why I continue to buy from them.
