More economical than extra virgin olive oil and neutrally flavored, olive pomace oil is perfect for deep frying. This cooking olive oil is produced from the oil remaining in the ground olives and pits after the first cold pressing. Some consider olive pomace oil a better choice for frying than extra virgin olive oil. In addition to its substantially lower cost, it has a much higher smoke point than regular olive oil. Most commonly used in professional kitchens because of its cost and neutral flavor, olive pomace oil is a great choice for home use as well.
