5.0 out of 5 stars Fabulous Book!
What a wonderful story, and a wonderful way to teach children how to accept themselves, and others for who they are. Great lessons on not "judging a book by its cover". The illustrations are breath-taking! I highly recommend this to the teacher as well as the parent. It has become a favorite in my child's library.

3.0 out of 5 stars Very Cute
I thought this book was very cute, but my Aspie kid didn't just love it. He is pretty sensitive to didacticisms; can spot them a mile away. He felt it was a pretty long ride to the "be yourself" destination. I still thought it was a cute concept and liked the illustrations.

Great book. I use it during my social skills classes and the kids truly catch on to the concept of the orange peel being a facade and the bully Orange. It is a longer book with lots of words, so for younger children it can be shortened by eliminating some of the sentences. I love the help in the back for discussion topics and questions.

This book will be on my class bookshelf when school resumes, I found it a valuable resource for helping the young child to understand and cope with this disability. The easy to read text coupled with the colorful illustrations is a really "interest grabber" a big plus for the 3-7 age group and Oliver...has these qualities. I will see children telling the story back and drawing their own representations of this great selection. Excellent for 3-7+ pre-reader and reader.
