Editorial Reviews

From Library Journal

From the "Farm Tractor Color Histories" series comes this beautiful collection of photographs covering various models of tractors from companies that were merged or bought by the Oliver Company. These include Hart-Parr, Nichols & Shepard, and the Canadian Cockshutt company. The authors are quite knowledgeable and have collaborated on a number of tractor titles, including Ford Tractors (Motorbks. Internat., 1990). The book contains 80 high-quality color photographs of restored tractors and brief histories of the models illustrated. The text is somewhat limited, though, and the book functions more as a pictorial review than a complete history of the marque. Suitable for larger public libraries and agricultural libraries.

1.0 out of 5 stars No Cletrac info., July 27, 2000
By A Customer
This review is from: Oliver Tractors: Oliver, Hart-Parr and Cockchutt (Motorbooks International Farm Tractor Color History) (Paperback)
I bought this book because I thought it would contain information about Cletrac tractors. From the title you would think so. I was very disapointed to find that there were only two pictures of one Cletrac tractor (Actually an Oliver as the tractor pictured was made after the oliver take over) There was only one page of text (of the most superficial sort). From my point of view this purchess was a total loss. The book title is not at all representative of its content, at least as far as Cletrac tractors are conscerned

5.0 out of 5 stars Awesome, January 21, 2009
This review is from: Oliver Tractors: Oliver, Hart-Parr and Cockchutt (Motorbooks International Farm Tractor Color History) (Paperback)
The book does a nice job in presenting an overall picture of Oliver. Great color pictures of many Olivers along with a brief history. A good & useful book.
