I've been buying the Olivia calendars for over a decade, but this one was a real disappointment.

The calendar element of it -- you know, the thing that's supposed to help you know which day is which in the month ahead? -- is completely useless. It's arranged in an artistic yet nonsensical layout for each month. There is no grid. It's just a bunch of boxes trailing down the page with as much formatting as an ee cummings poem. Yes, the names of the days are written in each box, but they're in a curvy cursive font that is illegible from more than three feet away. So, like I said, it's completely worthless except as a reminder that June has 30 days, not 31.

As for the art, this crazy calendar arrangement did allow them to go much bigger on the art. Alas, I'm growing dissatisfied with the art direction of recent Olivia calendars. She used to be fine with doing R-rated work, but in recent years, every nipple must be covered, every fold carefully hidden. Now it's strictly PG-13, and maybe even PG.

If this years calendar is the direction Olivia is going with her calendars, I won't be purchasing them in the future.

I love oliva's calenders, I've been buying them for about 8yrs now. The only thing I don't like about this new one is the was the days of the month are set up, but I'm a true Olivia fan so buy it mostly for the art!

Slightly over-price, but lacks writing spaces per day. The calendar is long with very good illustrations, but traditional wall calendar format should have been followed.
