I got this because the hair brush I use with red plastic tips on its sparse bristles collects lint balls at the base which cannot be removed--they are hard to get to and won't go over the red tips. (I even found a thread on some forum devoted to this topic ;^) Some women were applying Elmer's glue to the lint balls to make them peel up-off after the glue had dried.) So, I tossed the prior brush, got a new one, and got this cleaner. The wider end works great to loosen hair and lint balls. Now I keep up with cleaning it more often and rinsing it off in hot water every few days. Works like a charm.

This brush-cleaning tool is terrific at cleaning different types of brushes. I have natural bristle and plastic brushes. As was pointed out by another reviewing, this tool does a great job of helping you get the hair out of brushes with those "ball" tips (red, black, whatever). Those "ball" tips on the brush clog up cleaning the brush. This tool does the job. Excellent.

I recommend this brush cleaner to everyone. I found it to be inexpensive and very, very useful. I use my round brush every morning and spray my hair with hairspray so my hair sticks to my brush and within minutes of using your brush it cleaned away my old hair on the brush. It did not take long and now I have a clean brush everyday.
