Lots of family values and acceptance of each child's weaknesses and strengths.

I love the way this show illustrates the many challenges of being six years old! It is delightfully simple and great for young children, but touches on so many issues that small children have to deal with. My five year old granddaughter can totally relate and emphasize with Olivia's experiences, hopefully is learning some valuable lessons about life, caring and sharing. It's appeal is limited, I think, to a small age range, and primarily girls, so that's why I am giving it only four stars.

Like many adaptations, I feel like this loses something in the translation from original book to screen. Olivia loses a bit of her feistiness in the show-- which isn't necessarily a bad thing! My daughter (age 4) would give this ten stars if she could. She enjoys Olivia's antics and sense of humor. There is very little objectionable material here. It isn't an educational show in terms of content, although there is usually a gentle moral embedded somewhere in the episode.

My three year old daughter loves Olivia!!, we introduce her Olivia first on books and now on TV and she loves seen her in action.
Olivia does, think and imagine as a kid her stories are very entertaining for kids and adults in a very innocent way, in a way that will never scare a kid.
Last experience we had with Olivia was when taking my daughter to Metropolitan museum of art in NY, she found a modern art paint from Olivia's book also pictured in one of the episodes of season 1 (don't remember which one) and she was astonished to find it hanging on the wall, she excitedly reported to my husband and I that she saw the paint in Olivia.
I absolutely recommend this TV show to parents.

I really love this for my little one. She hardly watches any tv. This is a treat and she loves it. I like it because it has a good message, good music, it doesn't move too fast, its simple yet fun, and there isn't any sarcasm like a lot of kid shows. Olivia is a pig just working out how to be herself growing up.

Now one would think, why would a 32 year-old woman be watching endless reruns of the same season of Olivia. But, most would quickly realize that it is the 3.5 year old she calls her daughter that should be writing this review.

For that 3.5 year old the hijinks of Ms. Olivia pig offer endless laughs and moments of pure unadulterated glee. Whether it be Olivia operating a super sour lemonade stand or fantasizing about debuting as a magnificent ice skating queen this 3.5 year old is glued to the television set. And though she may have just seen that episode, oh maybe 12 hours before, she cannot get enough of the Olivia's undaunted courage to just be herself.

I must say that I will tolerate the copious, obsessive and borderline pathological viewing of this show in my household for the following 3 crucial reasons:

1) I like that Olivia's mom has a career
2) I like that even though Olivia finds her little "bother" Ian irritating she isn't straight up mean to him and, ultimately, includes him in her projects
3) I like that Olivia is undeterred by obstacles, but not in that saccharine over-emotional way that tries to draw out "awwws" from the crowd.

Overall, I do truly recommend this show for little ones. But beware, the opening theme song, which only consists of the "Olivia" to various high pitched tunes, will stick in your mind day in and day out.

Such an adorable, cute kids show. Both my son and my daughter can't get enough of Olivia, and it stays very true to the spirit of the books.
