Olivia Makes Her Own Luck,
By
This review is from: Olivias Luck (Paperback)
I enjoyed this book, although I read sections over a long period of time. It could have used a bit of trimming; there are many plotlines including one about her rat of a husband who leaves her in the middle of a home renovation for a surprising reason that is revealed near the end of the book; one that tackles the complicated relationship she has with her mother; a storyline about a pregnant friend; and some werid goings on with the handymen camped out on her property, but all are filled with humor.I loved the characters, especially Olivia and her eccentic neighbors, one of whom she mistakenly thinks tried to kidnapped her daughter. The reader is made to wonder just who will win her heart, the neighbor who composes beautiful music, a handsome and sexy handyman or her husband who doesn't seem to know what he wants.

Couldn't put it down!!,

Very funny. Some unrealistic storylines, but over all it was an extremely good read. Couldn't put it down until I finished it.

If you liked "Bridget Jones'Diary" - you'll enjoy this tale of the painfully realistic Olivia's journey through abandonment, disbelief, insecurity and incredulity at the way life's changes can stir and shake you up. The characters are instantly likeable - from the crowd of rogue builders who protectively watch over Olivia's emotianal dirty Laundry as it is paraded through the neighbourhood, to Olivia's smart and sassy daughter and friends who watch Olivia's transformation from complacent housewife to jibbering wreck to sought-after soulmate. A great read, contains laugh aloud situations and leaves you wanting more
