Format: Audio CD
Ollie King was an arcade title released in 2003 by Sega and was developed by Smilebit, the developers of the cult smash title Jet Set Radio. OK bore a lot of similarities to JSR: though the control scheme changed, the cell-shading awesomeness, stylish characters and engaging trick-oriented gameplay were still prevalent. Another similarity, and the reason for my writing this review, is it's amazing music.

To anyone who's went to the trouble of picking up any of the JSR music, the name Hideki Naganuma should be familiar; he was the composer of a great number of its original tracks, and have been frequently hailed as the best tracks within the game. Songs such as Rock It On, Sweet Soul Brother, Humming the Bassline, Teknopathic and The Concept of Love have inserted an ear worm into many a gamer's, and for good reason: his works all contain impressive originality, plenty of energy and a funky beat that one can really groove to. In Ollie King, Naganuma maintains the quality that his fans have come to expect, and even manages to raise the bar for himself in a couple of the tracks.

Broader 70 and Let it Go, the first and second tracks respectively, both are a change in style for Naganuma, but are no less catchy then his previous workls. Broader-70 has a slower start at the beginning, but the clever use of random NASA lines hooks you in, and the rest of the song soon picks up the pace and keeps you bouncing along with it's infectious beat. Let it Go on the other hand takes things at a faster pace, and is a lot more lyrical then most people are used to hearing, but both work together superbly with the song's high-energy atmosphere to create something absolutely wonderful.

Funk to the top is also something that instantly impressed me.
