If you are a fan of soul and R&B, Ollie and the Nightingales should be on your short list of must-hear groups. These Stax recordings highlight this little-known and short-lived group. Former gospel singers, they branched out into the realm of soul music and, with the help of the great producers at Stax, came up some fine recordings. This CD also includes some post-Ollie recordings of the Nightingales, which are excellent in their own right. It's a gem!
