5.0 out of 5 stars Omarion Is Back
After about 4 years off (to my knowledge...) Omarion is back. It is a good album all-around and well worth the $3.99!

3.0 out of 5 stars Omarion - Ollusion, February 9, 2010
This review is from: Ollusion (Audio CD)
I'm going to make this review brief, because honestly I am not a big O fan. First I will say that O's last solo album 21 was good, but I kind of had a feeling that Ollusion was going to be a disappointment. First off, he took WAAAYYY to long to put out his follow up to 21 (I don't count Faceoff as a Omarion album), taking a little over three years to put out a very short album. Second, he made triple label switch before this album going from the decent T.U.G label, to Lil Wayne's monster Young Money label, than switched again to the EMI label...what was he thinking??? I personally think he would have been just fine staying with T.U.G./Universal, and he surely would have been successful on Young Money, but when he left Young Money for EMI thats where I lost him, because Marques Houston did the same thing earlier in 2009 when he left TUG for EMI and his last album (Mr. Houston) absolutely flopped on the charts and it was pretty bad. It could be potentially career ending for Marques Houston? So why did his half-brother (Music & Blood lol) make the exact same dangerous move??? I don't have a clue, but it definitely did make a large difference in his music and not in a good way. The production on Ollusion is the first big problem i noticed with the album, as it was pretty evident that the label downgrade brought in a lot less big names on the production credits. Previous collaborator Tank (The Underdogs) and T-Pain are the only truly big name producers on the album, and they both only contribute one track. "I Get It In", produced by Tank is the extremely catchy first single, and O does kind of bite Lil' Wayne's mumbling rap style on this track, but its still one of the few standouts on the album. And the T-Pain produced "Sweet Hangover" is another very catchy potential single with more mid tempo club track that you would expect from T-Pain complete with his signature snaps and the dreaded auto-tune, but luckily for Omarion, he pulls it off with this track. But other than those two tracks, and the mid tempo ballad "Speedin" and the relaxed "What Do You Say", everything on the album is completely forgettable. Where Omarion really messed up on this album was with the cheap knock off production from no-namers like 253 (who produced almost half the album), Detail (Ray J's Main Producer...thats all that needs to be said), and Marques Houston (lol). And even though Maddscientist is an alright producer, "I Think My Girl Is Bi" is a terrible and extremely annoying...it's very similar to a club/radio track from Lady Gaga, which means that even though the song is absolutely terrible and annoying, it could potentially be a hit. And "Temptation" sounds like a cheap knock off of Usher's "Confessions"... A really, really, really cheap knock off. And both tracks produced by Mr. Houston himself are terribly boring attempts at babymakers. Overall Ollusion just kind of comes off as rushed and cheap. I mean its not a terrible album, its just nothing special...at all. I mean look at the first week sales of all three of his albums, 2005's "O"- 195,000 units sold 1st week, 2006's "21"- 119,000 units sold 1st week, and 2010's "Ollusion"- 21,200 copies sold 1st week...thats a bad falloff.

I can't for the life of me figure out y all these artist change up their style (i.e. Usher and Beyonce) This Auto-tune/Rap thing ur trying to pull off is not working..please go back to the Omarion we all know and love!! And to believe I paid $14.99 for this...I want my money back!! And u had the nerve to say this is ur best work yet...huh! April Fools!! I would not recommend buying this album ppl.....

5.0 out of 5 stars omarion you amaze me, January 13, 2010
This review is from: Ollusion (MP3 Download)
I truly hope people stop sleeping on this young man's talent. Omarion is both such an "Omazing" and amazing ENTERTAINER. He sings and he has great stage presence so with this album (Ollusion) I am eager to see how he performs these songs. The album is versatile. There's club songs and there are slow sexy songs that set "the mood". Your fans are loyal, O. Good work.

3.0 out of 5 stars I wasn't impressed, December 26, 2010

I usually love Omarion's music but this album left me wondering...what happened? Some of the tracks sound like they are a continuation of what did not make it on his album 21. I thought the production of the songs are weak and the lyrics are predictable. Songs like "Temptation" have been done before. Not to mention the Spanish lady speaking on the track (Rosa Acosta) sounds congested. Ollusion sounds like a demo for a new artist. Omarion tried to take risks but the risks were not successful enough to make a statement. But there are some promising tracks on the album like "What do you say" co written by Chris Brown, "Sweet Hangover" and a could be classic "Speedin" too bad the other tracks just can't catch up. It also has a confusing interlude with Marques Houston who on the track would rather go outside while his girlfriend is getting it on with Omarion inside??? It wasn't needed. The track that follows ("Wet") was very watered down with a loss of lyrics towards the end. I am still puzzled as of why there is a Parental Advisory sticker on the album...it's almost as clean as a whistle. Stil love you Omarion:)

3.0 out of 5 stars Uuuuuh, It's Better than the 2nd But Still Short Of The 1st, December 18, 2010
This review is from: Ollusion (Audio CD)
"I Get It In" & "Speedin" are definitely by far the best songs on the album!!! I loved the videos as well! "Hoodie" was ok, it had to grow on me, I like the video more, and I think his mom was kickin it though! LMAO!!! I think you should have done a video for "I Think My Girl Is Bi" because that song is FUUUUN-NY!!!! CTHU!!! I definitely liked the album but I still think that O was definitely your best album without a shadow of doubt!!!!!

Man, I hope Omari can get it back, that magic, fresh out of B2K man!!! I know he got his grown man on and all but I really think songs like "Speedin, I'm Gon Change, Sleepin, What You Get, Gots Ta Be, Why I Love You, Would You Be Here, The Other Guy, Everyone's Home for Christmas, Why'd You Leave Me on Chistmas, My First Christmas (Love You Marques) O, I'm Tryna, Growin Pains, In The Dark, Fiening You!!!!" COME ON OMARI TAKE US BACK!!!! GET THAT MAGIC BACK BOY!!!! Hire a new writing team!!!! Get with the new crew that will bring you that money!!! New album/New crew, I'm just saying!!!! I miss you, the you that I new could make it without B2K!!! Just don't be like Sisqo without Dru Hill!!! This just isn't fair, I miss B2K!!! Please call J-Boog & Fizz, and do it without Raz crazy throwed off @$$!!! Like Beyonce with Destiny's Child, recharge that battery.

1.0 out of 5 stars Horrible Album By A Once Promising Singer, September 14, 2010
This review is from: Ollusion (Audio CD)
Given the fact that he was the lead singer of one of the biggest R&B boy bands of the 21st century, one would think that Omarion would have a better carrer. However after a good first album, he followed it up with the equally bad 21 which did nothing to show off his vocal talent. With Olluison, Omarion is singing songs that truly show he was and always will be nothing more than a studio singer.
