Stearica - 'Oltre' (Homeopathic Records),
By
This review is from: Oltre (Audio CD)
Three piece progressive band from Turin, Italy. Only other CD they have out is a split release they do with Acid Mothers Temple. Tunes here that I liked best on this all-instrumental effort are the intricately-played "Bolero On Botero", the (almost) high-energy "E Ogni Cosa Scompare", "Beyond The Red Bells I've Heard Gold Bulls" and "22 August". Line-up: Francesco Carlucci - guitar, bass, piano & loops, Davide Compagnoni - drums, piano, loops and marimba and Luca Paiardi - bass, electric piano & synthesizer. Most defintely, an acquired taste. Might appeal to Dalek and possibly Damo Suzuki (only two that I could think of).
